Chiropractic and Yoga – Working Together for a Healthy Spine
Chiropractic Information/ By Dr Summit Dhall @LIFE Chiropractic Bundall
Do chiropractic and yoga compliment one another to make a healthier spine?
When recommending exercise to my patients, I always suggest they find a Hot yoga class they might enjoy and try it out to help strengthen the foundation around the spine that we are currently working on. Some people are reluctant, especially males, but I inform them that not only is the class designed to promote flexibility but it works to allow the body to relax as well.
Motion and balance are two necessities to creating and maintaining a healthy life which both chiropractic and yoga focus on. Chiropractic helps restore proper motion to the spine and Hot yoga continues that by increasing flexibility, joint strength and range of motion. Balance training is essential for the body and the mind because working on balance helps stimulate parts of the brain that are often neglected.
Along with having proper spinal alignment we are able to achieve maximum nervous system potential and increased balance capabilities.
Also, by bringing attention to the present moment and working to limit the activity of the mind, hot yoga provides a way to naturally lower blood pressure and handle stress. For patients dealing with personal crises or body image issues, it can reduce anxiety and help develop more accurate self-awareness. By practicing Hot yoga, we are able to take our bodies a step further in the right direction as we continue to age.
The philosophy behind chiropractic is the removal of nervous system interference allowing the body to return to normal function and promote healing. The body is amazing in that it has the ability to heal itself after such interferences are removed.
Our bodies are given the powerful ability to heal on our own by our innate. Chiropractic helps to improve posture, range of motion, and flexibility. These are all very important parts of a strong hot yoga practice, so one can see how routine adjustments are beneficial to practice.
Hot Yoga has many health benefits too, both physical and mental.
Hot Yoga also helps improve flexibility and joint range of motion, it helps to strengthen muscles, correct posture and prevent spinal rigidity. So, you can see how a regular yoga practice will help you achieve optimal health and lessen your chance of future injuries as well. Hot Yoga is the perfect complement to chiropractic and will help lead you to a healthier spine and lifestyle.
