Yin yoga with MFR (myofascial release) Workshop

This workshop will be working with the three main principles of Yin practice;

1 – Come to your appropriate edge

2 – Be still and allow muscles to be soft

3 – Hold each shape for a period of time

A workshop based on the teachings of Paul Grilley (Originator of Yin with the teachings of Paulie Zink). Myofascial release (or MFR) is an alternative therapy to treat muscular skeletal immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles.


As we age soft tissue can become restricted from overuse, trauma, infectious agents, or inactivity. Often resulting in pain, muscle tension, and diminished blood flow. This workshop will help you to connect deeply with your body to release pain, calm the nervous system and develop peace of mind.

The Art of the Arm Balance: Arm Balancing 101

Are you looking to develop upper body strength? Or work on your balance?

This workshop will guide you through the preparatory exercises to work up to mastering the arm balances:

Side crow
Eight angle
Baby grasshopper
Split leg arm balance

-Modifications and variations will also be provided as you move through the workshop

-Open to all levels

-The room will be set at a warm temperature

-Cost $30 in advance/$35 the day of

We will begin with an introduction to the poses covered, followed by an asana practice to warm up the body. The asana sequence will include the preparatory poses that will help lead into the balances mentioned. As you move through the asana you will continue to build your core, find balance, and open up the shoulders in order to execute the postures. You will also be given alignment cues on how to set up, variations you can experiment with, and modifications to use if needed. The class will end with restorative poses to bring overall balance back to the body after the practice.
