to get the most from your hot yoga practice and maximize metabolism is to ensure that you take in the proper nutrition within an exact window of 30-60 minutes post exercise. Meal replacement shakes are recommended for this for a number of reasons. 1| The right shake will be in the correct proportions of nutrients to support your body. The ratio of protein to carbohydrate to fat will program metabolism and support your body. Too many carbs and you'll store energy as fat, too much protein and you'll feel tired and un-easy. 2| Many people have sluggish or compromised digestive systems which won't allow full utilization of the nutrients in food due to the poor state of digestion or assimilation. Yet the reaction to stress in the body can be very similar even with better quality stessors so what can you do to manage how your body reacts to stress? healthy. 1| Be prepared by using a very LARGE towel or two or three or six. Bring as many as you need to catch your sweat so you can take it home with you and wash it away. 2| Be sure to have water with you and lots of it! Mostly you'll just sip on it in class but, right after you're done you'll want to drink heaps. We've got it at the studio as well so for a couple of bucks you'll be all set. 3| Stay on your mat when you practice. By keeping on your mat and towel you'll always have a non-slip place to put your foot. Off the mat can be quite slippery so stay put and enjoy. 4| When finishing the class CAREFULLY roll or fold up your mat so as to not drip or pour sweat all over our floors. If we see you doing it we will call you out in front of everyone... it's a bit embarrassing when that happens but, it usually only happens once and not again. 5| Please be quiet and refrain from speaking in the yoga room itself. We all need time to decompress... 6| Be humble and practice exchanging the feeling of expectation for appreciation. It's not for us because we're going to rock your world...
